Things to Keep Top of Mind as COVID-19 Restrictions Lift
Slowly, restrictions are being lifted state by state as we inch towards a state of normalcy, but the habits we’ve developed over the last year shouldn’t be going anywhere in the near future. To ensure the pandemic is in the rear view mirror as soon as possible, masks, hand hygiene, social distancing and disinfecting should continue to be a part of your daily protocol, no matter the restrictions in your state (Click here to check restrictions by state). It’s important to not take our foot off the gas pedal and continue to take the virus seriously. We’ve done and sacrificed a lot, and we’re in the home stretch - we can’t lose everything now by letting our guard down.
Masks are a critical first layer of defense and should continue to be worn. They protect you and perhaps more importantly, protect others. Don’t be selfish. When social distancing is not possible, masks are essential. Another way to do your part is to constantly wash your hands. COVID-19 can be spread by hands and can stick to surfaces, so hand hygiene should constantly be top of mind. Use soap and water, and if not possible, turn to hand sanitizer with at least 60% ethyl alcohol. To ensure comprehensive infection prevention, also disinfect high-frequency surfaces like door handles, keyboards, phones, desks, and countertops. Doing all that? Great! Keep doing it! Sticking to these measures and erring on the side of caution should keep us heading in the right direction. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
